Maurya Mellody-Carr, PT, MPT

Maurya is a cum laude graduate of the University of Scranton where she earned both her Bachelor of Science and her Master of Physical Therapy degrees. Her graduate level research was accepted for presentation at the APTA Combined Sections Meeting held in Washington, D.C.

Maurya has over twenty years experience in treating patients with orthopedic, neurological and spine diagnoses. She has teamed up with area physicians to provide community education regarding neurological disorders such as Parkinson’s Disease. Maurya continues to stay up to date with the latest advances in Physical Therapy with continuing education focusing on osteoporosis, muscle energy techniques, and kinesiology taping. She has completed numerous seminars with emphasis on vestibular rehabilitation therapy and concussion management. Maurya is credentialed in concussion management through the ImPact® Trained Physical Therapist program (ITPT). She has been passionate about increasing concussion awareness through public appearances. Maurya assists her patients in achieving their individual goals of returning to work, school, sports, or prior level of function. Working at TLC Physical Therapy allows Maurya the opportunity to use her skills and experience as well as her passion for physical therapy in helping her patients maximize their potential for achieving their highest functional level.
