CERTIFIED MEDICAL ASSISTANT OR LICENSED PRACTICAL NURSE:  Full Time, Scranton Office

NERA Scranton is looking for full time certified medical assistant or LPN to provide clinical support to healthcare providers in office setting.

Duties include:

  • Verifying information by interviewing patient, confirming purpose of office visit
  • Checking electronic medical record for completeness
  • Taking and recording vital signs,medical history, medication and allergies
  • Assist with prescription refills as per physician order
  • Check out and schedule follow up appointments
  • Manage phone messages and return calls to patients
  • Collect specimens and follow up on diagnostic testing

Skills:

  • Medical office experience and electronic medical record experience is preferred.
  • Ability to accurately prioritize clinical and clerical tasks
  • Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrates ability to work effectively in a team of environment to be flexible, and maintain confidentiality.
  • Medical Assistant Certification Required
  • CPR certification preferred

MEDICAL ASSISTANT-PATIENT ROOMER:   Full Time, Scranton Office

NERA Scranton is looking for full time Medical Assistant - Patient Roomer(s) to provide clinical support to office medical assistants and healthcare providers in an office setting. This is an ENTRY level position. This is a fast paced position and requires frequent time on feet and frequent walking. The MA Roomer escorts patients to clinical area and prepares them to be seen by the healthcare provider.

Duties include:

LICENSED MASSAGE THERAPIST:   Part Time, Scranton Office

NERA has been taking care of patient’s physical medicine and rehabilitation needs for many years. The Healing Arts Center at NERA offers integrative therapies that can be of tremendous benefit when used to supplement and complement the treatment patients are already receiving. At the Healing Arts Center, patients can take advantage of the following techniques: acupuncture, therapeutic massage, and chiropractic. Each fully certified and licensed practitioner is committed to combining complementary and traditional therapies to advance patient healing and wellness.

The Healing Arts Center at NERA Scranton is currently looking for a part time Licensed Massage Therapist to join our team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Has a full understanding of anatomy and physiology, massage techniques and therapeutic skills such as assessment, application and evaluation.
  • Provides clear explanation of the massage process and gives clear instructions regarding dressing, undressing and draping procedures.
  • Obtains health history from patients and performs objective musculoskeletal testing as needed. Notes the subjective complaints of the patient to assess present condition.
  • Identifies or adheres to indications and contraindications as set forth by the physician/chiropractor or discovered by the therapist during independent assessment.
  • Uses various learned therapeutic hands-on manipulation/massage techniques to alleviate problems arising from soft tissue injuries, providing treatment to re-educate the injured tissue to allow it to return to its pre-injury status.
  • Provides appropriate patient education, including, but not limited to, proper body mechanics, stretching and strengthening exercises and nutritional information.
  • Documents any/all progress, regression, goals and treatment plan in a S.O.A.P. note, completed in a timely fashion, signed and correctly dated for the date of treatment.
  • Presents documentation to the treating physician who assesses if the treatment should be altered, discontinued or continued on its present course.

Skills/Requirements:

  • Current license in Massage for the state of PA.
  • Membership in the National Certification Board of Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork.
  • 3-6 months of hands-on massage therapy and physical assessment.
  • Completion of basic First Aid and CPR certification required.
